The short version
The Decoder runs in your browser. Your salary, your answers, and your results are never sent to us. They're saved only in your own browser on your device, so you can pick up where you left off.
If you upload a benefits guide
You can upload a benefits document in the free or full Decoder. It is sent securely to our server and to Anthropic's Claude AI, which reads it only to pull out your benefits details. We don't store the file or what's found in it. The details found are sent back to your browser and saved there. Only the benefits pages are needed, so feel free to leave out pages with your name or ID numbers.
What's saved on your device
To save you from starting over, the Decoder keeps your guide details and answers in your browser's local storage on this device. It isn't sent anywhere. Use "Clear my saved info" on your dashboard, or clear your browser's site data, to remove it.
What we do collect
- If you buy the full Decoder: payment is handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email, and purchase details, never your card number.
- If you join the email list: your email address, kept with our email provider. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- If you email us: whatever you choose to send.
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't run advertising trackers. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google sees a standard web request from your browser.
